Trust Issues

There is so much talk these days about people having “trust issues.” Have you heard someone talk about their own trust issues or perhaps you have identified your own? I know that often when trust is broken in a relationship it becomes increasingly more difficult to trust that person in the future. But many people don’t trust others because of what has happened to them in the past. It can often lead to constant feelings of fear and anxiety.

Being distrustful of others can affect dating relationships. It can be one of the major reasons people choose not to date. They can never be sure of the other person’s motives. They fear getting hurt.

As a Christian we are told to trust God. But even that can be difficult when we have experienced the pain and heartaches of life.

So how do we trust? It takes courage. Friend, you are loved by God. Choose to trust that it is true. You are worthy of the love of someone special and you have the capacity to love others. Step out in faith, trust God and trust yourself.
