Be patient! Be active!

Do you feel like you have been more than patient waiting for the right person to come along and sweep you off your feet? So many single people I meet are eager to “find the one.” But when I ask them what they are looking for they have no clue.

What does it mean to wait patiently to enter into a relationship? Patient does not mean idle. You can actively wait and still have patience. You can be active in going out on dates to learn what you like and what you don’t like. You can be active in discovering your own hobbies and interests that you may potentially share with a significant other.

Patience is included in the list of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians. As believers in Christ, we can trust that God is working even when we do not see it. We can have confidence that God has not left us and we can rest in God’s faithfulness. When we acknowledge these truths our attitude can be one of patience while we scroll through the dating apps for the 30th time in a day.
