Not the only one

When I was in high school and college it seemed like everyone was dating someone except for me. Then it became the wedding season of my life and everyone was getting married, except for me. And then, of course, all of these beautiful couples were getting pregnant and having kids. Everyone, except me.

It can be difficult to feel like the only one in any situation. So, to all those 40 something year olds who are still single - never married and no kids - you are not alone. There are plenty of men and women in their later years of life who long to get married, but for whatever reason find themselves unattached.

What I have learned is that everyone has their own path. No one has the same life journey as another person. All you can do is live your own life and let them live theirs. Be happy for your friends who date and decide they want to spend the rest of their lives with a significant other. You do you and know that you are not the only one who feels the way you do.
