Consistency

I'm not sure that I can live with the inconsistency any longer. My beliefs are part of who I am, so by being apart of a community that doesn't share my same views, I'm living in conflict with myself. I wish that I could ignore it. In fact, I have done my best to set it aside for the past five years. The topic has only come up a few times in conversation with others and I haven't made that much of it. But recently it has caught more of my attention, or more importantly, more of my heart. It has caused me to wrestle with not just what I believe but who I am. Struggling to understand my emotional unrest, I've prayed, sought wise counsel, and explored some options. Yet, I have few answers. The clash is not simply a matter of my choices, but a matter of my identity. I did not choose my gender. It is something that was chosen for me by a good and loving God. I would not change it for anything. I did not choose my calling. By the grace of God, I have answered the call and lived it out in a variety of settings. It is now a matter of which faith community shares my belief that there is no limit, no boundaries, to the context in which I live out my calling.

  1. Sarah my heart goes out to you. On the one hand I am sad to hear you are considering leaving us... on the other I pray you find what you're looking for, that you feel you are accepted (in every way!) for who God made you to be.

Know that Bryan and I are behind you.
