On The Move

I am leaving in the morning. Leaving to move to a new area of the country. Leaving with only my belongings that I could pack in my car. Leaving to begin the adventure of starting a youth ministry. Leaving dear family and fun friends.

It all feels so strange. It doesn't seem real.

Can I admit that I am scared? No, that is too personal to admit on the internet; better save that for my own paper bound journal.

I think it is going to be hard. After all, I don't have a place to live or an income. "God, take my hand."

I think that I will make the most of it - I always seem to. The opportunity to reach teenagers is exciting, although it will be a challenge. "God, take my hand, lead me down this path."

There is not much doubt that this is what I am meant to do at this time in my life. At times the thought, "What am I doing?" comes to mind, but I press forward. "God, take my hand, lead me down this path, pour out your grace."

I am leaving in the morning. Leaving for a 10 hour journey to DC to stay with friends. Leaving from there to live and love in the great Northeast.

  2. You're right - the northeast is truly great.
Godspeed on your journey - it is certainly no small thing.

I'll be in Boston the weekend of October 29-31 with a few friends - maybe we can bump into you. If you know of a place I can stay, that'd be info to which I would love to be privy. I think a lot of my old buddies from up there have moved on.

Good to know you're there. New England needs more people like you.
