Life as a Trailer

I now live in a trailer home. Last week was my first full week living here. It is not the ideal place to live. When high winds come and thunder clouds start to darken the sky, you better believe that I will be knocking on one of my friend's homes. Why is it that tornados always seem to know where the mobile home parks are located?

This is a whole new experience! Here are a few things that I have witnessed living in a trailer that you just might not get in a regular home:
  • You know when your load of laundry has hit the spin cycle. The whole house shakes.
  • You can see from one end of the house to the other when my bedroom door is open.
  • I can touch the ceiling in most places with little effort.
  • Almost all the doors in the interior have a two inch space below it (why is this?).
  • Most of the doors don't stay open unless you prop them with something. I think the walls are a little uneven, causing the doorways to lean, thus the door to swing closed (just a theory).
  • The air conditioning vents in the floor cause my feet to be really cold.
  • When the large double doors from my bedroom to my bathroom are open (and with all the boxes still in my room they remain open) my toilet to seems like it is IN my bedroom. It is rather odd and something I might just have to take a picture of because it is hard to describe.

Yes, I live in a trailer home in central Texas!
