More time! Really?

I typically balk at the posts that begin "I don't know who needs to hear this but..." I think they are cliqche and often simply fishing for attention. But this one caught my attention and hasn't left my thoughts. It read, "I don't know who needs to see this but give God more time."

This thought of trusting God's timing is not new to me. I believe God knows best and I have surrendered my life to following where God leads as close to the time God leads as possible. But to read this statement now made my heart sink. How much more time does God need?! Honestly, God is very powerful and is not limited by time. 

If it was up to me, my dashing prince charming would show up at my front door tomorrow morning (not too early) and proclaim his undying love to me and then we would live semi happily ever after (I've become a realist with age). But chances of that happening are slim to none. 

So, I wait. With each swipe right, each heart tapped, I wait and wonder - is it going to work out with this guy? How long, Oh Lord? 

I have been patient. I can and will continue to be patient. But it won't stop me from trying to guess each time a man shows interest in me, "Could this be it?"
