Writing (Again)

For several weeks now I have been wanting to write.  I've been feeling the itch to express my thoughts and feelings in black and white, but I've put it off and turned to scrolling through Instagram instead.  I am not sure why I have avoided this mode of expression.  Perhaps because I feel like I have nothing to say or that I have too much to say - I just don't know where to begin.  Or it could be that I read the writings of others and their words are so much more clear and calculated than I could ever possibly dream of creating.  But something inside me would not let it go.  It doesn't matter where I start; I just need to start.  And those other bloggers/authors tell a different story.  No one can tell my story but me, and so I will write my story myself.

I need to tell my adventure.  I want to share how my journey with God is one of the most exciting, life-giving, freeing experiences.  For those who know Jesus, I want to encourage them and help them navigate the grace-filled path that they are walking.  For those who do not yet know the grace of God, I wish to tell them of the love for which they long and how it really does exist. 

This blog celebrated 12 years of being in existence this past Saturday, July 16.  Most of my posts are reflections or retelling of my own life events.  It has served almost as a diary or journal.  Each year the number of posts have decreased and so much has gone unwritten.  I've often thought of things to write about but never actually sat down to write it out.  I'm not that busy.  I'm just that lazy and distracted by other things.  All this to say, I can no longer escape the calling to write.

So, I may be keeping this blog and writing more frequently, or I may create a new, fresh blog.  I'll be sure to keep you updated.
